Returning to Hendrick Motorsports for the second time this season, Mark finds himself back in the
seat of the No. 5 Hendrick Autoguard/Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet this weekend at Michigan
International Speedway for the NASCAR Busch Series race.
In his first of three Busch Series starts for Hendrick this season, Mark drove the Hendrick
Autoguard/Hendrickcars.com Chevy to a runner-up finish at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway back in May.
"I am really excited to get behind the wheel of that ‘5' car again," Mark said. "I had a blast
driving it in Darlington back in May. That's a really good team they have over there and I'm
really looking forward to getting back in their stuff."
Mark is the winningest driver in Busch Series history with 47 victories in 223 career starts
since 1987. He has earned 143 top-10 finishes, 106 top-fives and won 21 percent of all the
Busch Series races he's entered.
However, a win driving for Hendrick Motorsports would be even sweeter to Mark.
"Winning for Hendrick Motorsports would sure be awesome.," Mark said. "Rick (Hendrick) has great
cars and a great team, so hopefully if we can put it all together we can take that car to victory
lane.
"I've known Rick for a long time and he's meant a lot to NASCAR. To be able to get a win in one of
his cars would be really special for me."
In nine Busch Series starts at Michigan, Mark has posted two wins, seven top-five finishes and
eight top-10s. His first victory at the track came in his first Busch Series start there in
August 1993 and he won again there in 1995.
In addition to his Darlington run and the Michigan start this weekend, Mark will also compete for
Hendrick Motorsports in the Busch Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November.
