Hi, I think you have done well for changing sponsers. I am a very dedicated fan, and have always been your fan since I got into racing. I like you, because unlike some others, you don't blam others, no matter how hard it gets, and I appreciate it. Theirs not that many that really do that any more. Also, you race clean, you don't fight like some, reck them, and say oh well. And you don't get to personal, you leave it on the track, and don't take it out on the track. On June 4, 2001 a waitress at Jean's Diner in North Hoosick, NY approached my table and asked if I were not Mark Martin, the race car driver. I said, "No, but I drive a mean snowmachine." Before leaving I did write Mark Martin on the placemat. After a bit of research at the magazine rack I found a magazine article and a picture. Then I saw how the waitress happened to ask the question. I related the story of my first brush with NASCAR history to "GP", my garage man and a dirt track racer himself; he said, "And he is short, too." It was an education to learn about Mark's talents and achievements; and that he prays at chapel before each race. I live about two hours from the track near Loudon in NH and hope to watch the man himself some day soon. Many years ago I used to land my jet at 160 knots after breaking the sound barrier at 40,000 feet and have a great respect for the speed managers on land. So Mark - Thank you for your great story and the small way in which we crossed paths.

I went to the inaugaural Tropicana 400 on July 15, 2001 (my birthday) at Chicagoland Speedway to see Mark race. Although he didn't finish first, I enjoyed seeing him for the first time at my first NASCAR track race. I was amazed at how he had been able to lead laps at most of the races. He's a real stock car driver. I look forward to him dominating the Winston Cup Series. I like the color scheme on his Ford Taurus, since blue is my favorite color. A true driver. Keep on racing Mark. Although I am a huge Gordon fan, I just want to say that NO driver is classier and a better sportsman on the track than Mark Martin. I would just like to thank Mark Martin for being a wonderful role model. Usually girls look up to girls but I have looked up to Mark since I was 4 years old. He is the class act of Nascar. I have met all my goals except one. I set it way to high but when I set it I was having bad times. It was to meet Mr. Martin. I was a big fan of Jack Roush and when he got into Nascar, I had to go with Mark Martin. I was at the Richmond race when Mark was wrongfullly penalizied 40 pts. He lost the championship to Earnhardt by 14 pts I think. I know that there is still time to move up in the points. Mark is my DRIVER, period.

I have been a fan of Marks for nearly 5 yrs now, may not seem like a long time to most...but he caught my eye immediately when I noticed his driving ability. I have a close friend that is in short track racing (stock) and their skills are very much the same. They both are clean drivers and each sit back and wait for what the rest of the pack is doing and/or going to do and they somehow miraculously reappear with the perfect opportunity to pounce into place like a fox in a hens house to take the lead and/or the win. And I am partial to Arkansas since my dad was born and raised there (Morrilton) also. The man is just a gentleman who has overcome many obstacles in his life and career to be the driver he is today! I have GREAT respect for him as both man and driver...God bless, Mark!

Well, I wrote in this thing in January.. I am now the 15 year old that is the biggest Mark Martin fan. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed in the finishes that he has placed as I know everyone out there is... he's been running great until his luck leaves him and finishes with a DNF. But no matter what, there is no way I'm going to stop being a fan of his no matter what my dad says. It's kinda like what we say in cheerleading... "It happens to the best of the best, but you just have to work through it." I know Mark will be able to turn his season around.. he's a fighter and I'll be cheering him on every step of the way. Let me retract a statement I made a couple of weeks ago regarding this being Mark's year for better luck! So far, his luck has been even worse than last year. The ford's are at an obvious disadvantage and throw in Mark's luck and you get a 29th place in points. I can't remember Mark ever being 29th in points after 2 races. I know the season is long, but if his luck don't change soon, an obvious whole will be dug in the ground that will be hard to climb out of. Here's hoping our NASCAR God's cast a bit of luck Mark's way for the remainder of the season!

Mark, I've not always been a fan of yours never disliked you nor liked you until about 7 years ago and then i don't really know what was said or heard but you became #1 at the Daytona race that i was at. This is it race fans. Today all of us Mark diehard fans hope that he begins a success run for the 2001 championship. Everything seems to be in place for Mark this year. He is much more at peace with his life and his team has really come together. I think that his partnership with Pfizer and Viagra was icing on the cake and this will be a successful team. I don't think Mark has the car to win today, nor do any of the fords for that matter, but a top 10 would be a nice start for successful year filled with GOOD LUCK for a change. Mark's luck can't get much worse than last year. I just heard that even though Mark was 1st in happy hour he is not satisfied with his car at all. Let's hope that changes by the time the green flag drops. Go get Mark, this is your year! Good luck from "another" one of your number 1 fans!
