I always knew Mark was the classiest man in Winston Cup racing because of his graciousness in victory and defeat, and because of the sportsmanship with which he drives. But I learned Sunday that he also surrounds himself with classy people,too. My son and I were at the Rock and he wasn't feeling well, so we decided to leave a little early after Mark wrecked. We were parked in the infield and on the way out, we ran into a couple guys from Mark's crew. One of them saw my son wearing a Mark hat and shirt and called him over. He reached into his bag and gave my son his pair of gloves.I didn't get the man's name, but the gloves have the initials "DN" on them. If anyone knows who he is, please THANK HIM FOR ME!!!!!! Mark and his crew are No. 1 in my book!

In my eyes Mark is the best driver on the track simply because of his prestige. If he is second at the end of a race and doesn't have the first place car, he'll settle for second instead of causing a wreck like Earnhardt.

Mark's #6 IS #1. As you can see, he was an outstanding teacher for Jeff Burton. I have freeze frames of Mark and his car from various races and commercials. If you like, I can e-mail to you. My family and I are diehard fans of this man-in our opinion he is the ultimate race car driver. We, my husband and I were at the Brickyard this week and the wreck he had was a heartbreaker for us. It was hard to stay after that. We came to see Mark race, so after he was gone it took a lot to stay there and watch the finish. He is the best and we will be fans long after he has retired; hopefully it will be awhile and after he wins the MOST DESERVED Winston cup championship!!!!!

Mark I would like to start by saying Thank You for all the great years of racing. You have always been my favorite driver since your ASA days. You were winning a Championship the year I graduated(85). We have something incommen I guess you can say, I also had back surgery in (99) Sept 27 to exact. I didn't heal as fast as you though and your surgery was more major then mine. I was very impressed at the outcome of things for you back at Daytona in Feb. You and your therapist must of worked awful hard to get back. As you, I also lost my Father, he past in Sept of 98. He was my best friend, my role model, my everything. The hardest thing I have ever went through was the passing of him. He was also a hardcore race fan, raised me up around the track. You helped me through my rough times during my recovery from surgery. I was reading all the clips on your recovery and was jealous on how much farther along you were then I was. Well anyway I have blabbed long enough, Thank You for being such a insperation to me. It's been great being a Nascar fan and watching you over the years. I guess I will be adding new sponsorship to my Mark Martin die-cast collection next year and stoppping with winn-dixie. Good Luck! Chris M

Hello, I found this site just crusin round the net...excellent I am also a Mark fan...very big...do you collect much. Just to let you know, I have found some die-cast models of chevys that Mark drove before getting in with Jack Roush if you look you might be able to find them, If not E-mail me and I'll see if I can find out the manufacturer. I am a Ford man myself and don't have much love for a chev, especially on SUNDAYS!!!! But I found them very interesting and rare as far as Mark Martin is concerned! Ok guys! Time to turn up the summer heat and bring home that, oh-so-deserving, championship. Mark is struggling a bit lately and I say it's time he gets back on his role!!! Let's start it with Dover! Labonte needs to struggle, and now Earnhart is breathing down our neck only 2 back. This weekend is the start of the 2000 championship for Mark. Valvoline will be sorry they left us!!!! We feel that Tony should be fined for his careless & disregard for the saftey of his fellow drivers. This is Traven's first year of competition, he is only five years old. He's still learning the difference between the gas and the brake. Hello Mark. I am writing this hoping you will see it. I have a very similar problem with my back that you had. I herniated 3 discs L3,4,5 back in 1995. I had a discectomy and it did not relieve any of my pain. I have been living with pain ever since. I stay medicated and that's about all they say they can do for me unless I want a fusion surgery. Quite frankly I am skeptical about letting them cut me open again. I heard about your success and wonder if you could give me any insite on your surgery, the recovery and the name of your doctor. I am happy to see you back in a race car (even though I am a huge Rusty Wallace fan). I hope you have continued success on the track and with your back. Mark or to whom it may concern: I just have one question ? Why didn't Dale Jerret get out of your way when you were following him at Talledaga and then move when Jeff gordan got on his tail. My father-in-law has been a Mark Martin fan since he drove for Folgers. I got hooked on Nascar and Mark Martin because of him. We all think that mark is the Best driver out there. He wins because of his ability and not dirty tactics. He has become a great role model for my 2yr. old. He watches all the races and always yells "Go Mark" whenever they flash his car on the screen. We think Mark is great and hope for only the Best in his career and life. We'll miss him in Busch next year.

Mark Martin and the Valvoline team is the greatest! Every Sunday I sit glued to the TV screen, or to my #6 stadium cushion, hoping to see my man cross victory lane first. And I saw it this Sunday. What a joy!! I couldn't stop jumping up and down and screaming, he won, Mark Martin won!! It may have been a good pit strategy, but if he wasn't as good as he is, he couldn't have stayed so many seconds in front. At the end he was practically racing by himself, in my opinion, definitely in a class by himself. It was sweet!!

I just recently became very interested in Nascar racing within the last few years, but I have alway loved racing as long as I can remember. The one things that I enjoy most in life is the sound of a great race engine turning up a good r.p.m. I am from northern Maine and am still living in the area. I have to admit that I have grown sick of the long winters up here and when I check weather.com in January and February for North Carolina it makes me envious. Anybody that keep's up with nascar know's with out a doubt that Mark Martin is the best driver and has the worst luck being at the wrong place at the wrong time !!!!And yet when he get's done wrong on the track by another driver and they ask him about it after the race he never get's down on them ,talk's trash about them, he keep's his cool !!! He is a tru gentleman on and off the track Jack is very lucky to have him for one of his driver's!! He will win the championship this year !!!!!!! Very nice website. Loved the photos of Mark in the "early" years. I hope Mark wins the title this year. He's definitely talented enough to do it, just needs to be more consistent and needs to stay away from the "wreckers" in the races. I think Mark will win it this year. He sure does deserve it!!!
