The first of several new
paint schemes for Mark's
No. 6 Valvoline/Cummins Ford Taurus will debut at
Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend in the Food City
500, and he hopes his luck with new schemes on his
Roush Racing cars continues.
Mark will circle the .533-mile oval in a
black-and-orange MaxLife/Cummins Taurus fronted with
the familiar Valvoline red, white and blue.
The special paint scheme will also appear twice in
April at Texas Motor Speedway and Martinsville
Speedway; and three times in May at Richmond
International Raceway and Lowe's Motor Speedway, in
The Winston and the Coca-Cola 600.
"It is always an honor for our team to help promote a
new addition to the Valvoline line of products,"
Mark said. "We usually run pretty well at Bristol,
so hopefully it will be a successful debut for the
MaxLife/Cummins Taurus.
"We won The Winston the first time we ran the Eagle
One paint scheme in 1998, so I'm hoping another new
paint scheme will bring us some added luck. It's a
good looking car, and it would certainly look good in
Victory Lane."
MaxLife is a specially formulated motor oil intended
for high mileage vehicles. Mark's car is certainly
not considered a high mileage vehicle -- in fact, the
car Mark will use this weekend, JR-82 has never
been run anywhere.
By Sunday afternoon, Mark is hoping his car will be
the first to accumulate 266.5 miles after running
500 laps.
